A New Global Index for Short Term Voltage Stability Assessment

چکیده

The utility scale of non-conventional generators (NCGs), such as wind and photovoltaic (PV) plants, are competitive alternatives to synchronous machines (SMs) for power generation. Higher penetration NCGs has been respondent causing several recent incidents leading up voltage collapse in systems due the distinct characteristics under different operating conditions. Consequently, so-called system strength reduced with higher penetration. A number indices have developed quantify from short-term stability (STVS) perspective. None capture overall performances on dynamic recovery. In this paper, an improvement one STVS namely, Voltage Recovery Index (VRI), is proposed overcome shortcomings original index. Moreover, improved index globalized establish a new defined recovery (VRIsys) at level. amended VRI VRIsys used systematic simulations impact interaction various factors that could affect strength. assessment was conducted using time-domain simulation direct connected induction motors (DCIMs) proliferation converter-based technologies both generation load sides, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), respectively.

A Novel Index for Online Voltage Stability Assessment Based on Correlation Characteristic of Voltage Profiles

Abstract: Voltage instability is a major threat for security of power systems. Preserving voltage security margin at a certain limit is a vital requirement for today’s power systems. Assessment of voltage security margin is a challenging task demanding sophisticated indices. In this paper, for the purpose of on line voltage security assessment a new index based on the correlation characteristic...

A Short-Term Voltage Stability Index and case studies

1  Abstract—The short-term voltage stability (SVS) problem in large-scale receiving-end power systems is serious due to the increasing load demand, the increasing use of electronically controlled loads and so on. Some serious blackouts are considered to be related to short-term voltage instability. In China, the East China Grid (ECG) is especially vulnerable to short-term voltage instability d...

A Novel Line Stability Index (NLSI) for Voltage Stability Assessment of Power Systems

The management of power systems has become more difficult than earlier because power systems are operated closer to security limits, environmental constraints restrict the expansion of transmission network, the need for long distance power transfer has increased and fewer operators are engaged in the supervision and operation of power systems. Voltage stability has become a major concern in man...

A New Method for Considering Distribution Systems in Voltage Stability Studies

In methods presented to calculate the voltage collapse point, the transmission system is usually the only part of the power system that is completely modeled. Distribution systems are often replaced by aggregate load models because the use of the detailed model of distribution systems in voltage stability analysis not only increases the computation time, but also decreases the probability of co...
